Barry John Walker

I am a visiting assistant professor at Northwestern University. I received my Ph.D. form the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I believe now it is known as just Illinois.....

As for mathematics, I enjoy thinking about a variety of things. Like any other mathematician, connections between different subject areas are the most appealing. For me the topics include algebraic topology and number theory. The language of formal groups provides a bridge between these two mathematical islands.
