Great Lakes Geometry Conference 2013

The Great Lakes Geometry Conference is a well established conference series held annually in the Great Lakes region, rotating among different universities. The aim of this conference series is to bring together distinguished speakers in a variety of areas in geometry, topology and mathematical physics. The 2013 edition of the Great Lakes Geometry Conference will have geometric analysis as its main theme.

Date, Time and Location

The Great Lakes Geometry Conference will be held at the Department of Mathematics of Northwestern University on Saturday, April 20, 2013 and Sunday, April 21, 2013. The lectures will be held in Swift Hall 107. For directions on how to get to Swift Hall, here is a map.

Registration starts at 8:45am Saturday morning. The first talk will be at 9:30am and the last talk will finish by 1.00pm on Sunday, to allow for travel.

Graduate students, fresh Ph.D.s and under-represented minorities are especially encouraged to participate. Partial financial support is available.

The Conference is supported by the NSF.

Registration

Participants are asked to register online: the electronic registration form is now available here.

The Conference will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, as well as refreshments throughout the weekend for all participants. There will be a banquet at the Hilton Orrington Hotel (1710 Orrington Avenue, Evanston) on Saturday, April 20 starting at 6:30pm. The cost will be approximately $20 per person, $10 for students, $50 for guests, to be paid in cash on Saturday morning at the conference.

Financial Support

The Great Lakes Geometry Conference 2013 is supported by a grant from the NSF. At least 50% of the total expenses will be given to graduate students, recent PhD's and members of under-represented groups.
