Homotopy 2023

HOMOTOPY 2023 CONFERENCE

The Homotopy 2023 conference, in part to honor NU Mathematics faculty member Prof. Paul Goerss and his contributions to the field, was hosted by Northwestern University March 20-24.

The Emphasis Year is designed to investigate particular topics in mathematics over the course of an academic year.   For 2022-2023 our Emphasis Year is on Homotopy Theory. In addition to the topology seminar-- organized this quarter by Prof. Noah Riggenbach-- we will have a variety of activities throughout the year. These include topic courses in Topology as well as some longer-term visitors (such as Prof. Hans-Werner Henn from Strasbourg and Prof. Mark Behrens from Notre Dame).

Our Emphasis Year for 2023-2024 will be “Asymptotics in Geometry and Analysis:  The Mathematics of Steve Zelditch”. The organizers will be NU faculty members Yuchen Liu, Gabor Szekelyhidi, Jared Wunsch and Ben Weinkove.
