Biography
Sonja Mapes received her PhD from Columbia University in 2009. She held a postdoctoral position at Duke University before joining the faculty at Notre Dame, where she served from 2012-2022. She joined the faculty at Northwestern University in 2022.
Mapes’ research focuses on monomial ideals and combinatorics. In 2009 she received the Columbia University Presidential Teaching Award.
