Several of our Northwestern University Mathematics faculty members are involved with the following institutes and centers listed below.

The National Institute for Theory and Mathematics in Biology (NITMB)

 The National Institute for Theory and Mathematics in Biology (NITMB) aims to integrate the disciplines of mathematics and biology in order to transform the practice of biological research and to inspire new mathematical discoveries. NITMB is a partnership between Northwestern University and the University of Chicago.  It is funded by the National Science Foundation and the Simons Foundation.

Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation (IMSI)

The Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation is a mathematical sciences research institute funded by the National Science Foundation. It is managed by the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is hosted at the University of Chicago.
