- The May Midwestern Microlocal Meeting 2026 will be held May 9-10, 2026. It is being organized by Kiril Datchev (Purdue University), Antônio Sá Barreto (Purdue University), David Sher (DePaul University), and Jared Wunsch (Northwestern University).
Summer School in High-Dimensional Probability and its Applications
- This is a two-week summer school on high dimensional probability and its applications as part of an emphasis year on Probability at Northwestern University’s Department of Mathematics. The summer school takes place in two one-week blocks from August 3-14, 2026.
Recent Trends in Ergodic Theory, Symbolic Dynamics, and Connections to Combinatorics
-
This conference, ‘Recent Trends in Ergodic Theory, Symbolic Dynamics, and Connections to Combinatorics’, will be held at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL August 31 – September 4, 2026. The purposes of this conference are:1) Convene leading experts in ergodic Ramsey theory and symbolic dynamics in order to foster scientific collaboration, exchange ideas, and catalyze new research directions.2) Provide graduate students and postdoctoral researchers with essential exposure to these rapidly evolving fields and cultivate the next generation of U.S.-based researchers in areas that are currently significantly underrepresented in the U.S. academic landscape.3) We also take this opportunity to celebrate Bryna Kra’s 60th birthday. Dr. Kra is the Sarah Rebecca Roland Professor at Northwestern University and is a former president of the American Mathematical Society whose work has had a profound impact on these fields.
